Why a Home Lab

You wonder why do you need a home lab or even an home server. - You don't.

But if you want - you can make one.

I did start with a old under powerd PC that I converted to a RedHat Server - I was so happy so happy when it booted up. And I,m still on the journey...

My goal is to help you to build yours by sharing my experiences and code.

I will also share memorable moments of my longer journey - the journey on the digital highway from 1970 on wards.

The Polar Night is finally Over

The Kaamos, also known as the Polar Night, is the time of the year when there are at least 24 consecutive hours of darkness. Kaamos can be long in the North - 52 days.

pfSense + Cloudflare DDNS

If you do not have a fixed IP, you will need a DDNS.

Install an Alpine Desktop VM

Sometimes you need a small desktop on the cluster to do stuff. Alpine is a pure Linux OS, it's tiny. Adding a desktop, and it's there, a lightweight, minimalistic and customizable Linux experience in a VM. It uses OpenRC, not systemd. Alpine Linux is widely used
